The three units have undergone a major restoration in 2016-17. At that time, we designed our casitas and suites to appeal to the tastes of Canadians and Americans who want high-quality vacation rental accommodations in central Ajijic (pronounced Aah-hee-HEEK) for a period of 1 week to a couple of months. But of course we have Mexicans and others as guests! We are popular with both snowbirds and sunbirds, for digital nomads, as well as for people who are investigating the area for retirement.

We are in Ajijic village, 5 minute walk to the central plaza, 8 minutes walk to Lake Chapala Society or to the start of hiking trails, 10 minutes walk to the malecón (lakeside promenade), very close to restaurants.
Purified drinkable water at all indoor taps. Housekeeping once per week including linens. Solar-heated salt-water pool and roofed pool patio with gas grill shared with the two other rental units. We also have a shared furnished roof patio with spectacular lake and sunset views. We have wi-fi on whole property. You will have a 49″ or 50″ HD TV. We offer a Netflix sub-account, via internet.
We have two separate internet providers, both fiberoptic-to-the-house. You will almost always get a strong wi-fi signal from one or the other. But it will not be 100% reliability! If you are digital nomads, be sure to have your cell data available in case of an unusual loss of service. Let us know it is goes down, during business hours, so we can try to restore.
Two people maximum per unit please. Street parking. Sometimes you can park close to us, but sometimes a block away. You may enquire about secure parking in our garage – sometimes it is available.
Ask about have a dog with you.

Casita Escondida: Now under construction. Suitable for one person. Available in September 2025. A small studio apartment, 26 sq metres (280 sq feet). Architecturally designed and well furnished. One story, glass front, skylights onto an exposed stone wall. Double mattress, kitchen, ceiling fan, boveda brick ceilings. Internet and TV. Air conditioning is not necessary. Very private location on a property with four other well-dispersed living units. With shared solar-heated pool, pool patio, and mirador roof patio with views of lake and sunset. Access through the shared garden.

Seasonal rental 3-6 months in summer is USD $500/mo, or in winter is USD $700/mo.

Casita Grande: Large-ish 1-bedroom guest house, indoor space 72 sq m (780 sq ft), newly renovated in a “Mexican rustic” style steel and brick. Original art, lots of glass, stained glass, view of professionally landscaped garden with mangos, banana stems, birds of paradise (in season), hummingbirds, and your own private courtyard patio. King bed with ceiling fan in large bedroom, hexagonal domed living room with floor fans, large washroom with shower, full but small kitchen. Wi-fi and 50” TV. Air conditioning is not necessary. Gas fireplace.

Lakeview Suite:
1-bedroom apartment, 54 sq m (586 sq ft) indoor space, recently renovated into “eclectic-contemporary-Mexican-rustic” style. Because you are on the second floor with a 15 m2 (161 ft2) private terrace, you have a view of the professionally landscaped garden with mangos, bananas, birds of paradise (in season) and hummingbirds. The formerly obscured view of lake is now completely blocked by trees but there is nice view of pool and garden, and you can go to the rooftop patio with great views.
Queen bed with ceiling fan, and both original and reproduction art. Living room with ceiling fan. Large washroom with shower and tub, very small kitchen. Wi-fi and a 49” TV.
FULL – indefinitely
Mirador Loft: All new construction in 2017. Architecturally designed, mainly contemporary style, total indoor and balcony space 74 sq m (796 sq ft) on second floor. Spacious open concept living room/dining room/kitchen. Full kitchen with granite counters. Kitchen cupboards and doors and closets exotic-looking solid “parote” hardwood. The living room and balcony face Ajijic Centro and lake (much obscured by buildings and trees). Bedroom is a few steps up from the living room, facing our professionally landscaped garden with mangos, banana stems, and hummingbirds. Queen bed, brick cupola and ceiling fan, ensuite washroom with shower. High-ceilinged living room with ceiling fan, window blinds. Wi-Fi and a 50” TV.
NEW: There is now an air conditioning/heating mini-split in the bedroom.
Just up from your front door is the roofed and furnished roof patio, shared with other guests, with spectacular lake and sunset views.

Payment Terms:
Rates are all-inclusive. For exchange rates, we use www.xe.com. If you are staying up to three months, the deposit 33% is payable 6 months in advance payable by Interac e-Transfer (for Canadians), or PayPal / credit card (for Mexico, USA, and all other countries). The deposit is fully refunded if cancelled up to 30d in advance of arrival for any reason. Remainder upon arrival.
If you are staying for more than three months, pay last month as deposit non-refundable, first month upon arrival, and then month-by month.
If you make any payment in pesos cash, there is a 5% discount for that payment. Or ask for discount for paying in CAD $ via Interac eTransfer.
Check-out and check-in times: Check-out time 9:30 am please, but you can ask about an extension. Check-in time 3:30 pm, but you can ask about an earlier check-in.
